Mary Pacifico Curtis

Oyster River Pages: Do you rely more on discipline, inspiration, or something else when writing or creating artwork?

Mary Pacifico Curtis: Grief used to fuel a lot of my writing. Now I try to be tuned for a 'moment of poetry' in every day. I used to think I had to write something new every day. My MFA showed me that revision is very much a part of writing, and done right, can lead to something new and surprising.

ORP: What is the artist’s/writer’s greatest asset?

MPC: Passion.
